Key Responsibilities
Produce high-quality x-ray and CT images of specified body areas as directed by the physician or radiologist, while adhering to all radiation protection and safety standards
Work within the EMR system to generate and complete exam orders, and utilize PACS systems for releasing and transmitting images
Perform, record, and analyze QC data to maintain accuracy and precision; conduct equipment checks and monitor temperatures in accordance with regulatory and facility policies
Perform portable x-ray procedures as requested by the Emergency Department and nursing units
Transport patients as needed and collaborate across departments to improve patient and staff experiences
Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education, new protocol training, and new equipment training
Required Qualifications
Completion of a JRCERT-approved radiological training program or equivalent
Current ARRT registration (R.T.) required; C.T. credential required or willingness to obtain CT accreditation
Current Iowa Radiologic Technologist Permit to Practice required
BLS certification required
