Key Responsibilities- Perform CT imaging examinations including head, neck, perfusion, PE studies, GI bleeds, aneurysms, runoffs, and routine chest, abdomen, and pelvis exams, including intravenous contrast injections in accordance with facility guidelines
- Prepare equipment and scanning area for patient procedures; transport or escort patients to and from the CT area; maintain stocked and clean work areas per departmental policy
- Ensure radiation safety for patients, the public, and self in compliance with applicable regulatory requirements; educate patients and/or family members regarding procedures
- Operate and maintain CT equipment; perform quality control testing and record maintenance in log books per departmental quality assurance protocols
- Complete all clerical duties supporting the patient care process and maintain accurate documentation of all patient care activities
- Collaborate with department personnel, demonstrate a team-based approach to patient care, and deliver an excellent patient experience with compassion and respect
Required Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years of CT experience
- Hands-on experience operating GE VCT 64 and GE EVO 64 CT scanners
- ARRT(R)(CT) certification — active and non-expired
- Current BLS certification
- Active Virginia state licensure as a Radiologic Technologist
- Outstanding patient care skills and strong critical thinking ability
Preferred Experience / Skills- Prior travel assignment experience in a CT technologist role
- ACLS certification
- Experience with a broad range of advanced CT procedures including perfusion and vascular studies
