    PURPOSE/DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:
    Under the general supervision of the Radiology Manager, the individual performs all diagnostic imaging
    ordered by providers such as basic x-ray and computed tomography (CT) according to departmental
    policies and procedures. Individual also performs EKG’s and places cardiac monitors. Candidate needs to
    be capable of performing routine preventive maintenance and troubleshooting equipment, as well as make
    valued judgment decisions related to validity of orders.

     NO. DESCRIPTION
    1. Supports and models behaviors consistent with Pioneer Medical Center’s mission,

    organizational, departmental, and outside agency standards as it relates to the

    2. Will accurately perform procedures and exams as outlined in departmental procedure
    manuals for radiology with minimalsupervision.
    3. Verify orders, prior lab work results and for previous radiology exams that will be used
    for comparison.
    4. Must have the ability to accurately interpret a physician’s scanning instructions and
    perform CT procedures appropriately.
    5. Must be able to safely administer contrast material.
    6. Will explain examination and procedures to patient. Must be able to appropriately
    prepare and operate CT and x-ray equipment.
    7. Must understand and practice safe radiation procedures for patients and personnel and
    follow ALARA principles.

    8. Coordinates scheduling, transportation and testing of patients.
    9. Performs daily quality assurance procedures on equipment and maintains
    documentation of all work.
    10. Reports any problems with equipment or errors in procedures to the Radiology
    Manager.
    11. Must be responsible for maintaining cleanliness of equipment in CT and X-ray room.
    12. Pursues and maintains continuing education as outlined in the licensure laws of the state
    of Montana and the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists for the purpose of
    keeping current and proficient in radiology.
    13. Provides input to the supervisor for equipment and supply needs.
    14. Identifies needs and sets goals for own growth and development.
    15. Performs other duties as assigned or needed to meet the needs of the
    department/organization.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    KNOWLEDGE OF:
    • Basic knowledge of medicalscience commensurate with technical level of radiology (i.e., physics
    and anatomy for radiology and radiology procedure, etc.).
    • Medical terminology and use of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
    • Knowledge of state and federal regulations on an ongoing basis.
    • Common policies and procedures, both organizational and departmental

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Technologist needs to have completed an accredited education program related to radiology and be
    licensed and registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
    • Montana licensed.
    • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience relating to the above tasks, knowledge,
    skills, and abilities will be considered
    • Minimum of 1 year of CT experience.

    WORKING CONDITIONS:
    • Required to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays as well as share call responsibilities. Be able
    to complete all responsibilities in a timely fashion in the midst of other work responsibilities.
