the supervision of a Radiologist, the weekend CT Technologist will perform a variety of procedures that require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for multiple diagnosis or intervention. Responsible for performing CT and X-Ray examinations according to protocol and age specific needs including patient preparation.Include the following.Performs CT and X-Ray procedures according to protocol.Consistently provide images of optimal diagnostic quality on patients ranging from Neonatal to Geriatric age group; Follow established imaging and viewing protocols. Operate imaging equipment in diagnostic radiology and CT procedures efficiently and effectivelyComplete quality imaging in a timely manner, effectively organizing and prioritizing work flow to meet STAT and urgent demands while continuing to meet patient standardInteract with patient to ascertain medical history and provides instructions and explanation of the procedure and/or exam to obtain the best possible image.Reviews patient charts for missed clinical information and/or consent. Screens patients for surgical implants, allergies, etc.Obtains prior films/exams as needed and performs high quality scans to submit to the Radiologist for interpretation. Performs exams while attending to patient s care before, during and following exam and notifies the appropriate party if patient s condition changes at any time.Coordinates scan protocols with Radiologist. Serves as an expert resource for clinical, technical and process-related questions for other Technologists.Transfers and properly positions patients for examination in order to obtain desired results according to physician s specifications or protocols. Provides immobilization as required and protection in accordance with prescribed safety standards.Maintains a positive and professional atmosphere for patients. Demonstrates interpersonal skills necessary in order to interact effectively with patients who may be under physical or emotional stress.Practices sterile technique and prevents cross contamination. Other duties may be assigned as needed by supervisor. of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology; Must be ARRT certified or eligible upon hire.Minimum of two (2) years experience in Computed Tomography (CT) or X-Ray preferred.Detail oriented, self-motivated and a problem solver and team player.Venipuncture experience is preferred.Has at least one advanced modality license with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT)Must have current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification upon hire.
