Description

American Traveler is hiring a CT Technologist for a fast-paced Emergency Department setting requiring 2+ years of experience, 500+ bed hospital background, and Siemens FORCE scanner proficiency.

Details

• Emergency Department setting performing routine ED, Code Stroke, and some trauma imaging
• Patient population includes infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Daily caseload of 150-200 scans across 4 rooms; typical caseload per tech is 8-12 patients per 8-hour shift
• First shift typically staffed by 4-5 techs, second shift by 2-3 techs, third shift by 1 tech, and weekends by 2 techs
• Schedule includes 2x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) Saturday and Sunday plus 1x12-hour evening shift (5:00 PM-5:00 AM) Monday
• No call or float requirements
• 36 hours per week can be offered
• Uses Siemens (S3000, Sequoia) and GE CT scanners
• Charting systems include EPIC and Visage

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experience required
• Experience in a 500+ bed hospital required
• Must have Siemens FORCE scanner experience; GE scanner experience also required
• ARRT(R)(CT) and BLS certification required; license required if applicable
• Experience with Inpatient, ER, and Adult ICU settings
• Some trauma experience required; Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
• CT procedure experience required in abdomen, pelvis, head/neck, chest, spine, musculoskeletal, brain perfusion, CTAs, and multiplanar reconstruction
• Epic charting experience required
• Preferred skills include outpatient experience, IV starts, PACS, contrast administration, and Visage
• First-time travelers accepted with required 2 years of experience

Additional Information

• Perform CT imaging across a wide range of procedures including coronary CTA, vascular CTA, biopsies, aspirations, and drainage procedures
• Responsible for contrast media preparation and administration, peripheral IV starts, and venipuncture
• Utilize multiplanar reconstruction (MRP) and region of interest (ROI) measurement for image post-processing
• Follow isolation precautions, PPE, and radiation safety protocols
• Very fast-paced Emergency Department work environment
• Scrubs not provided; royal blue color required
• Weekend schedule includes Saturday, Sunday, and Monday with no weekend RTO permitted
• No RTO allowed during the first week of assignment; up to 7 days RTO auto-approved thereafter excluding holidays
• Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Local candidates accepted at a lower rate within 50 miles of the facility
• Travel pairs allowed if on different units and disclosed at submission
• Former Novant or New Hanover employees must wait 12 months before reapplying, with disclosure of hospital name and dates of employment required
