Description

American Traveler is hiring an ICU RN for a 13-week night shift assignment requiring 2+ years critical care experience and an active or pending MN RN license.

Details

• ICU setting within an acute care teaching hospital with Level 3 trauma designation
• Night shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 23:00 to 7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2 with a mix of med/surg and cardiac ICU patients
• Free charge nurse on unit
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital
• Uses Epic (Excellian) charting system

Requirements

• Active or pending MN RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; CCRN preferred
• Minimum 2 years of critical care/ICU experience required
• Experience with renal, cardiovascular, and neurological critical care skills preferred, including CRRT/CVVHD, IABP, Impella, and ICP monitoring
• Experience with ventilator management, titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips, and emergency medication administration preferred
• Supervisor reference required for consideration
• Must complete fingerprinting as part of Minnesota state licensing requirements

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to a variety of medical, surgical, and cardiac ICU patients
• Facility has 317 staffed beds
• Navy scrub color required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Previous charge nurse experience not required
• Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility to be considered, with no local candidate exceptions for this specialty
• Returning staff must have been gone at least 3 months since their last shift as a perm employee (staff or per diem)
• RTO should ideally not exceed 5 days
• Required to complete pre-start modules prior to beginning the assignment
