Job Details

• Position: ICU Registered Nurse (Travel RN)
• Type: Travel assignment
• Duration: 13 weeks

• Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Schedule: 3 shifts per week; every other weekend and some holidays required
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130 - $2,250
• Setting: Adult critical care / float pool
• Location: Madison, WI 53792
• Orientation: 28 hours
• Travel Requirement: Travelers must be eligible to float as needed across multiple critical care units

Job Requirements

• Active Wisconsin RN license or compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty
• 5 years of ICU or critical care RN experience preferred
• Experience in multiple ICU settings such as Neuro ICU, CVICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, or Medical ICU
• Experience in adult critical care, intermediate care (IMC), progressive care, or general care populations
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA
• Telemetry exam required prior to start
• Epic charting experience required
• Strong basic arrhythmia knowledge required
• Trauma Level I experience required
• NIHSS and TNCC experience or certification strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in high-acuity critical care settings
• Float between ICU specialties as needed, including Neuro ICU, Cardiothoracic ICU, Burn ICU, Trauma ICU, and MSICU
• Monitor and manage complex patient conditions, including ventilated patients and those requiring advanced hemodynamic support
• Administer medications and blood products safely according to established protocols
• Manage arterial lines, central lines, CVP monitoring, vasoactive drips, sedation, and other advanced interventions
• Support patients requiring CRRT, ECMO-related care, and other specialty critical care therapies as assigned
• Perform continuous assessment, document care accurately in Epic, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain a calm, professional presence while delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a fast-paced critical care environment
