Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Critical Care Float Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position involves floating to various units within the hospital, including the Emergency Department (holds), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). You may also be assigned to Medical Surgical (MS) units, handling a patient load of 6-7 patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in critical care settings.
• Float to different units within the hospital as required by patient needs.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, implementing appropriate care plans.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Utilize specialty equipment including Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump (IABP), Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Ventriculostomy, Intracranial Pressure (ICP) monitoring, and Therapeutic Temperature Management (TTM).

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in an ICU setting.
• Current New York Registered Nurse (RN) license at the time of submission.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) is required.
• NURSYS report and verification of all active RN licenses are required.

• Common Patient Diagnoses:
  • Respiratory Failure, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Post-ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI)
  • Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiogenic Shock, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Surgery (AAA), Trauma, Major post-operative care
• Shift Times: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM (Shift scheduling is subject to change)
• Scrub Color: Navy Blue
