Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring OH or compact RN licensure and prior travel experience.

Details

• Work within a Critical Care Float Pool covering multiple ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity
• Potential units include Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU/MICU/NCCU
• Float required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-07:30)
• Uses EPIC EMR

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR required
• Skilled in IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director-level supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across a variety of ICU settings based on facility needs
• Care for patients requiring cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, and multisystem critical care management
• Skills include arterial line management, central/PICC line care, ventilator management, EVD/ICP monitoring, and titration of vasoactive drips
• Complete fingerprinting requirements promptly after signing contract per Ohio state regulations
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees ineligible for travel assignments at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract prior to starting, limited to 7 days or less
• All assignments must extend through the specified end date with no early releases
