Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Critical Care Float Pool RN for night shifts, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and prior travel nursing experience.

Details

  • Work in a teaching hospital's Critical Care Float Pool, rotating among Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs (MICU x2), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU based on staffing needs and patient acuity
  • Night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM to 7:30 AM)
  • Floating required within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Ohio state or compact) in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred
  • Proficiency with Epic EMR required
  • Required skills: IV starts, telemetry monitoring, and ventilator management
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role and the second acceptable from a Charge RN (no coworker references)

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing services across multiple ICU specialties, adapting to unit-specific patient needs
  • Skills may include IV therapy, central/arterial line and PICC line management, blood product administration, ventilator care, ABG interpretation, chest tube assistance, EVD/ICP monitoring, CABG and post-cardiac surgery care, cardiac drip titration, dysrhythmia management, and 12-lead EKG acquisition
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract, including travel to an in-state fingerprinting location if within driving distance, or completion of a mailed fingerprinting packet if not
  • RTO must be requested at time of consideration and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for a travel assignment only after being away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees of Ohio State University hospital locations are ineligible for a travel assignment
  • First-time travelers may not meet preferred qualifications, as previous travel nursing experience is strongly preferred
  • Parking permit options are available for purchase through the medical center's parking program
