Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a float pool position requiring a CT or compact RN license and the ability to float across multiple ICU specialties and step-down units.

Details

  • Float pool position within the ICU, floating between two campuses sharing a parking lot and shuttle service
  • Floats across 5 ICU specialties and step-down units, including a pulmonary step-down unit with 1:3 ratios
  • Day shift schedule, 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Required to work every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Level I Trauma Center, short-term acute care facility with 1,567 staffed beds

Requirements

  • Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required (1.5 years considered with Level I Trauma or travel experience)
  • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
  • Trauma Level I experience at a large facility required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
  • Experience with ventilated patients and continuous IV sedation
  • Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with External ventricular drain (EVD) preferred
  • Experience with Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct ICU-level nursing care across multiple specialty units and campuses
  • Must float within scope to meet facility staffing needs
  • Travelers are expected to participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with religious or medical exemptions only
  • Up to 7 days of RTO can be auto-approved
  • Local candidates not accepted if residing within 75 miles of the facility
  • Former staff must have been separated from permanent employment for at least 2 years to be eligible as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
