Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Level I Trauma teaching hospital position requiring strong critical care and cardiac background with at least 2-3 years of critical care experience.

Details

• Cardiac ICU unit caring for primary CVICU patients with overflow from MICU, Trauma ICU, and Neuro ICU
• Focus on cardiology patients with a 1:2 patient ratio
• 23 staffed beds on the unit
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required with flexibility expected for unit needs
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other ICUs and boarder areas should be expected
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred
• Minimum 2-3 years of critical care experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, at least 2 contracts preferred (1 contract may be considered)
• Level I Trauma facility experience required
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Experience with critical care skills including ventilator management, arterial line management, central line care, and titration of cardiac/vasoactive drips
• Experience with cardiovascular specialty skills such as ECMO, IABP, Impella, and Swan Ganz monitoring preferred
• Two supervisory references required at submission

• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients and overflow critical care patients from other ICU units
• Magnet-recognized, teaching, Level I Trauma facility
• Manager prefers to avoid placing travel pairs together
• Scrubs must be solid blue, facility-provided or personal
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Prior UW staff must have an 18-month separation before returning as a traveler
• RTO should be kept to a minimum and cannot be requested during the first 2 weeks of the assignment
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
