Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position requiring OH or compact RN license and ventilator management skills.

Details

• Critical Care Float Pool role floating across multiple ICUs based on staffing needs and patient acuity, including Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
• Floating is limited to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM-7:30 PM), including weekend Saturday/Sunday coverage plus one weekday shift
• 36 hours per week
• EPIC EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Teaching hospital experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management required
• Additional skills include IV therapy, arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, blood product administration, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Experience with ventilated patients, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and suctioning required
• Experience managing dysrhythmias and multisystem organ dysfunction preferred
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager/director or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across a variety of ICU settings based on facility need and patient acuity
• Flexible floating to all critical care units expected
• Fingerprinting must be completed urgently after contract signing due to Ohio state requirements
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment only after 6 months away from the facility
• Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments
• RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less
• Assignment length is 17 weeks with all contracts required to extend through January 2, 2027
