Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float Pool position at a teaching hospital, requiring OH or compact license and ventilator management skills.

Details

  • Critical Care Float Pool position covering multiple ICU units based on staffing and patient acuity
  • Potential float assignments include Neuro ICU, Surgical ICUs, Medical ICUs, Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU
  • Nurses float only within units of equivalent or lower acuity
  • Weekend day shifts (Friday/Saturday) plus one additional day shift, 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM - 7:30 PM
  • 36 hours per week

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • EPIC proficiency required
  • IV start experience required
  • Telemetry experience required
  • Ventilator management experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • 2 professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference; coworker references not accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing coverage across a variety of ICU units based on facility needs
  • Skills utilized may include arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, chest tube assistance, BiPAP/CPAP management, ABG interpretation, and care of ventilated patients
  • Experience with cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, and continuous IV sedation may be required
  • Familiarity with CVA/stroke management, EVD, and ICP monitoring may be needed depending on unit assignment
  • Locals accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for a travel assignment once away from the facility for 6 months or more
  • Current employees ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this health system
  • RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Ohio fingerprinting must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines
