Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ICU RN for a Critical Care Float position requiring MO or compact RN licensure and prior travel experience.

Details

• Critical Care Float role covering multiple ICUs including Trauma, Oncology, Cardiac/Heart and Vascular, Neurology, Medicine, and COVID units
• May also float to inpatient floors such as Oncology, Neurology, Med Surg, Medicine, Trauma, Heart and Vascular, and COVID when ICU needs are low
• ICU staffing ratio of 2:1 on all shifts; up to 1:3 when floated to inpatient floors
• May be utilized as a patient sitter if needed
• Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 18:45-7:15)
• Every other weekend requirement or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule, plus holiday rotation
• Uses EPIC charting system
• Short term acute care hospital setting

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license required
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CPI, OCN, and TNCC certifications preferred
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required (first-time travelers not accepted)
• CVICU experience not required but preferred
• EPIC EMR experience strongly preferred
• Required skills: ventilator management, IV starts, telemetry, and conscious sedation
• Preferred skills: Swan-Ganz/hemodynamic interpretation, IABP, Impella, ECMO, vasoactive drips, CRRT, triage, ICP monitoring, PA lines, and Level I Trauma experience
• CRRT experience beneficial

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple ICU specialties with flexibility to float within the service line
• Navy blue scrub color required
• Free parking provided on-site
• Must reside outside a 75-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this position
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract; no RTO permitted during the first week of orientation
• Additional RTO requests are not accepted after submission, offer, or start of assignment
• Standard travelers may work up to an 18-month period before requiring a 3-month break in service
• Former permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning to any BJC facility as a traveler
• Contract length is firm and must be fulfilled in full once signed
• Facial hair must allow for proper respirator fit testing
