Description

American Traveler is hiring a Critical Care/ED Float RN to provide flexible nursing coverage across ICU, ED, Med-Surg, Telemetry, and Observation units, requiring ED or ICU experience along with Med-Surg/Tele background.

Details

  • Float pool role covering ICU, ED, three Med-Surg/Telemetry units, and three Transitional Care/Observation units
  • Float assignments determined shift-by-shift by the Clinical House Supervisor based on hospital capacity and needs
  • Night shift, 7PM-7AM, 3x12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
  • Requires flexibility to work across multiple clinical settings based on patient census and staffing needs

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted KY or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS certification required
  • ADN or ASN required; BSN preferred
  • Experience in either ED or ICU required, along with Med-Surg and Telemetry nursing experience
  • Strong critical-thinking skills and clinical competence across varied care settings

Additional Information

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care in accordance with scope of practice and hospital policy
  • Deliver safe, high-quality patient care across a wide range of acuity levels and settings
  • Facilitate discharge processes, coordinating with case management and other team members
  • Provide input on patient/nurse assignments based on staffing, acuity, and unit activity
  • Delegate and oversee care tasks performed by other team members
  • Promote a positive team environment and collaborate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team
