RN Correctional – UW Health University Hospital | Madison, WI
Start: 10/26/2026 | 13 weeks
Shift: Days 7:00 AM–7:30 PM OR Nights 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
Schedule: 3×12s / 36 hrs per week
Weekend: Every other weekend
Local: Not accepted — 50-mile rule

Requirements

2+ years acute/inpatient RN experience within the last 3 years
Strong Med/Surg or MS/Tele experience
Epic required; experience within past 12 months preferred
AHA BLS + active RN license
IV starts required
Telemetry experience/testing required
Correctional/forensic experience preferred, not required
First-time travelers considered with 5 years inpatient Med/Surg experience
Must float as needed
Flu vaccine required; exemptions only for medical/religious reasons

Unit: 18-bed Family Practice + 10-bed Forensic unit
Census: ~20/day
Patient population: Adult/geriatric Med/Surg patients; may have 0–10 incarcerated DOC patients at a time. Locked forensic wing; DOC officers accompany staff.

Important: Traveler must pass the required telemetry exam before starting. Testing has strict passing criteria and up to 3 attempts under the stated process.
