Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and staffing firm, is partnering with a respected healthcare client near Reno, NV to recruit an experienced Travel Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) for a 13-week assignment. Candidates must have hands-on experience with Cerner CommunityWorks and the Siemens Dimension EXL platform, as proficiency with both systems is required for success in this role.
Clinical Laboratory Scientist Responsibilities
Perform complex laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures and regulatory standards
Analyze, verify, and report laboratory test results accurately and efficiently
Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including Siemens Dimension EXL analyzers
Utilize Cerner CommunityWorks for laboratory documentation, patient records, and result reporting
Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure testing accuracy
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare staff to support patient care initiatives
Follow CLIA, CAP, OSHA, and facility-specific laboratory standards and protocols
Participate in proficiency testing and performance improvement initiatives
Maintain detailed records of laboratory procedures, testing results, and equipment maintenance
Ensure compliance with all infection control and laboratory safety guidelines
Required Qualifications
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) License
Minimum of 1 year of recent Clinical Laboratory Scientist experience
Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures
Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
Education & Certification Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related field
Active California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License
ASCP Certification (MLS/MT) preferred
Current BLS Certification preferred
