Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CICU position requiring prior ICU experience and advanced hemodynamic monitoring skills on night shift.

Details

  • Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) setting within a hospital
  • 16-bed unit staffed by RNs only, with no HUC or PCT support
  • Patient ratios of 2:1 or 1:1, occasionally 3:1 depending on acuity
  • Uses ventilators, telemetry, Baxter IV pumps, IABP, CRRT, Impella, and hypothermia equipment
  • Charting completed in Cerner
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM, 36 hours per week, alternating weekends
  • 12-hour shifts required
  • Travelers required to float to all areas as needed
  • Unit performs procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, EGD, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
  • Skilled in titration of vesicant medications, pressors, sedation, and paralytics
  • Experience with vents, trachs, and telemetry interpretation required
  • Strong understanding of hemodynamics and PA catheter setup and interpretation required
  • CCRN, IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience preferred but not required
  • US SSN and DOB required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and support
  • Scrub color requirement: all navy or navy and white, no pullovers or hoodies
  • No green scrubs allowed except when uniform is soiled at work
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates not accepted
  • One professional reference required (two required for Florida and Missouri candidates)
