Job Summary:
Charge Nurse role at an Emergency Department located in Asheville, North Carolina. This position involves overseeing patient care operations during night shifts in a fast-paced, high-volume trauma and stroke center. The role requires leadership skills and experience in emergency nursing to ensure safe and efficient patient care delivery.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, minimum of 36 hours per week
- Required Qualifications: 2 years of experience as a nurse, at least 1-year experience in an emergency room setting, current certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC), Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) within 90 days of hire, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification before starting date. Additional educational requirements and state licensure as applicable.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in a Level 2 trauma center and comprehensive stroke center with high-volume emergency department (over 100,000 visits annually). Experience with HCA is a plus.
- Additional Information: Must have the ability to work in all areas of the emergency department, demonstrate teamwork mentality, and provide real-time feedback to staff. The department is recognized for excellent teamwork, advanced equipment, and serving a diverse community with over 120 languages spoken. Candidates should be flexible to float within all sections of the ED but outside of the department is not required.
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC (within 90 days of hire).
