Job Responsibilities Scrub in on surgical procedures under the supervision of professional nursing staff, supporting a wide variety of advanced and complex surgeries. Set up and maintain sterile surgical tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, medications, and solutions required for procedures.

• Scrub in on surgical procedures under the supervision of professional nursing staff, supporting a wide variety of advanced and complex surgeries.
• Anticipate surgeons’ preferences for instruments, supplies, and equipment and proactively prepare needed items.
• Set up and maintain sterile surgical tables with instruments, equipment, supplies, medications, and solutions required for procedures.
• Disassemble, clean, reassemble, and prepare surgical instruments and equipment for terminal sterilization, within the scope of assigned duties.
• Monitor instruments and supplies to ensure sterility and support quality assurance and patient safety.
• Maintain inventory of assigned surgical supplies and request replenishment as needed.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, suturing materials, needles, prosthetic devices, and other surgical supplies.
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow appropriate patient positioning procedures.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to requests made during surgical procedures.
• Provide input regarding changes to policies, procedures, and patient-care standards.
• Participate in educational programs, in-service training, special projects, and departmental learning initiatives.
• Participate in assigned committees and perform other duties as required.
• Provide backup call coverage for emergency cases that may require two surgical technologists.
