Prepare the operating room, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Scrub, gown, and glove self, surgeons, and surgical assistants.
Perform surgical counts with the circulator before procedures and prior to closure.
Assist with sterile draping and maintain strict sterile technique.
Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures.
Anticipate the surgeon's needs based on the procedure being performed.
Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
Assist with terminal cleaning and preparing the OR for the next patient.
Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any issues.
Support and train new employees and surgical technology students.
Follow all hospital, safety, infection-control, and surgical standards.
