Job Description
Cheshire Medical Center is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to join its Operating Room team. The CST will primarily work in a scrubbing capacity as part of the surgical team and may assist with circulating duties when needed.
The Surgical Department performs a wide range of procedures, including general, orthopedic, total joint, neurological, endocrine, breast, oncology, gastrointestinal, colorectal, and hepatobiliary surgeries, including both open and laparoscopic procedures.
Responsibilities- Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgical procedures.
- Scrub for a variety of surgical cases and provide appropriate instruments and supplies.
- Maintain strict aseptic technique throughout procedures.
- Assist with OR preparation and maintain a safe, organized, and quiet surgical environment.
- Prepare, handle, and maintain specialized surgical equipment and supplies.
- Assist with circulating duties when required.
- Communicate effectively with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other members of the surgical team.
- Adapt quickly and effectively to stressful or changing surgical situations.
