  • Schedule: 4×10
  • Experience Required: 1 Year
  • Weekly Pay:$2,100 to $2,300
Roles and Responsibilities
  • Prepare operating rooms, surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures
  • Assist with sterile field setup and maintain strict sterile technique throughout surgical procedures
  • Pass instruments, supplies, and equipment to surgeons and surgical assistants as needed
  • Anticipate the needs of the surgical team during procedures
  • Assist with patient positioning, skin preparation, draping, and other pre-operative activities
  • Perform surgical counts of instruments, sponges, needles, and other items according to facility protocols
  • Handle surgical specimens appropriately, ensuring accurate labeling and transfer
  • Assist with room turnover and preparation for subsequent procedures
  • Ensure surgical instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, transported, and processed according to infection prevention standards
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow operating room policies and procedures
  • Monitor the sterile field and immediately address any breaks in sterile technique
  • Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia staff, and other perioperative professionals
  • Follow infection prevention, OSHA, HIPAA, and patient safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient operating room environment
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Surgical Technologist experience
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required by facility
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, sterile technique, surgical procedures, and infection prevention
  • Experience supporting a variety of surgical specialties preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fast-paced operating room
  • Ability to anticipate surgical team needs and respond efficiently
  • Commitment to patient safety and high-quality perioperative care
