description:
Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room. Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field, retracting and passing instruments, supplies and medications to surgeons during cases. Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.This department includes all functions related to operating room services, including intraoperative patient care. It also may include perfusion services, inpatient and/or outpatient services, and other operating room support functions. It does not include PACU, anesthesia functions, pre op holding, and/or central sterile functions. If your department is operating as a combined department with all surgery services combined, please notify FP&A and we can map it to "Surgical Services Combined Without Anesthesia" to provide you with an appropriate benchmark.
requirement:
Day Shift 12 hr shifts, 0900-0930 , CST required . 3-5 years acute OR experience. Should be competent with ortho trauma, joint , neuro spine, davinci XI, advanced laparoscopic and bariatric surgeries.Education and Work School Education/GED or equivalent: RequiredAssociate?s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: PreferredScrub technician experience: PreferredOperating room experience and/or training course: PreferredLicenses/ Surgery Technician (CST) certification or Tech in Surgery TS-C (NCCT) certification: RequiredCardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredCertified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification: PreferredNational Board of Surgical Technologists or Association of Surgical Technologists certified: Required
