Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT)


Start Date: ASAP
Shift: Days, 6:30 AM–7:00 PM
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts Must live 50 miles outside of Tucson, AZ
Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Position Summary

Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) to provide high-quality cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic services to both inpatient and outpatient populations. The Respiratory Therapist will work in accordance with approved medical staff protocols and departmental policies and procedures to ensure timely, safe, and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients.

  • Follow established medical staff protocols, department policies, and procedures.

  • Assist physicians with invasive and non-invasive respiratory procedures.

  • Administer medicated aerosol treatments using medical compressed gases.

  • Establish, maintain, and manage patient airways.

  • Perform ventilator management and monitoring.

  • Assist with and perform endotracheal intubations as appropriate.

  • Collect and analyze arterial blood gases and provide appropriate respiratory care based on results.

  • Monitor patients' respiratory status and respond promptly to changes in condition.

  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to support optimal patient outcomes.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of respiratory care services.

Qualifications

  • Current Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential through the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).

  • Ability to provide safe and effective cardiopulmonary care in accordance with established protocols.

  • Knowledge and demonstrated competency in airway management, ventilator management, aerosol therapy, intubation, and blood gas collection/analysis.

  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and teamwork skills.
