    Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) – Long Term Care (LTC)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Execute specialized therapy plans designed by the supervising Occupational Therapist, guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities to improve motor skills and coordination
    • Teach patients how to perform Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and eating, utilizing adaptive techniques as appropriate
    • Instruct patients and families on the proper use of adaptive equipment including reachers, mobility aids, and modified utensils
    • Record detailed notes on patient progress, behavioral changes, and safety concerns, reporting findings to the supervising OT to support treatment plan adjustments
    • Provide emotional encouragement to patients and train caregivers on home program assistance
    • Prepare treatment areas, maintain equipment cleanliness, and assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling and billing as needed
    Required Qualifications
    • Minimum of 2 years of OTA experience in a Long Term Care (LTC) setting
    • Active Texas OTA license or valid compact state license
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Experience with Daily Occupational Records (DOR) documentation
