We are seeking a dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide high-quality, patient-centered occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA will assist patients in developing and maintaining the skills necessary for daily activities, functional mobility, and greater independence.

Responsibilities

  • Implement individualized treatment plans established by the supervising Occupational Therapist.
  • Provide therapeutic activities and exercises to improve strength, coordination, balance, cognition, and functional skills.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and other functional tasks.
  • Teach adaptive techniques and appropriate use of assistive and adaptive equipment.
  • Monitor patient responses and progress and communicate observations to the supervising OT.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers on home programs, safety techniques, and strategies to promote independence.
  • Complete accurate and timely treatment documentation.
  • Collaborate with the supervising OT and other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Modify therapeutic activities as appropriate within the established plan of care.
  • Maintain a safe, supportive, and professional treatment environment.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
  • Current COTA license in the applicable state.
  • Previous COTA experience preferred.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently while following the direction of the supervising OT.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working with diverse patient needs.
  • Commitment to patient-centered care.
