Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CCU position at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring ACLS, BLS, and CT or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the CCU of a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
  • Primarily SDU assignments with occasional ICU coverage and potential floating to other units
  • Average patient ratio of 1:3 across day, night, and weekend shifts
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
  • Every other weekend coverage required
  • Float to PCU, other ICUs, and SRC campus as needed
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent CCU/ICU experience required (1.5 years considered for Level I trauma or travel experience)
  • Level I Trauma Center experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, arterial line management, and central line care/management
  • Experience with care of ventilated patients and interpretation of ABGs
  • Experience with continuous IV sedation and cardiac monitoring/emergency response
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
  • Experience managing patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • Knowledge of isolation precautions and PPE protocols
  • One professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing support within a large academic, Level I Trauma Center setting
  • Participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required with religious or medical exemption only
  • Candidates must live outside a 75-mile radius of the hospital to be considered
  • Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Facility can auto-approve up to 7 days of requested time off
