Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Cath Lab Technologist to join our cardiac catheterization laboratory team. This role requires current experience in a cath lab setting, along with the ability to collaborate efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Shift Information

• Shift Type: Days (Friday to Sunday)
• Shift Length: 12 hours
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

Unit Description

The Cath Lab features a collaborative and dynamic team environment with a focus on patient care during cardiac, vascular, and neuro intervention procedures. The lab includes:

• 5 total suites
• 2 suites primarily for coronary cases
• 1 suite for peripheral cases
• 1 suite for vascular and neuro cases
• 1 suite for electrophysiology cases

On average, the unit handles between 10 to 22 cases per day.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team comprising 2 technologists on each case (1 in scrubs and 1 monitoring hemodynamics).
• Assist in patient care with conscious sedation administered by an RN.
• Participate in procedural processes, including airway management and administration of cardiac drips (e.g., Integrilin, dopamine, vasopressors).
• Fulfill duties as assigned by the Lead Tech, who manages room assignments and workflow.
• Prepare for potential floating to different roles as needed.

Qualifications

• Current certifications: ARRT, BLS, Fluoroscopy.
• Previous experience in a Cath Lab is mandatory; familiarity with conscious and moderate sedation is required.
• Ability to manage additional responsibilities during cases, including working with various medical devices.

Additional Information

This position requires participation in the call rotation for inpatient and emergent cases, approximately once per week. Furthermore, expect to take call on one weekend each month, generally from Friday evening through Monday morning, with potential adjustments based on unit needs.
