Cath Lab Technologist
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Technologist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Cath Lab procedures, particularly fluoroscopy/panning and cardiac and peripheral interventions. Candidates will undergo a profile review followed by a manager interview.
Important: A radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to the start date.

- Average Case Volume: Approximately 4 cases per day
- EMR: EPIC
- Hemodynamic System: Philips Xper
- Equipment: Siemens C-Arm, IABP, Impella, Shockwave, Laser, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, and 4-port manifold
- Charge/Team Lead: Charge Tech available
- Scrub Color/Dress Code: Provided
- Orientation: 1 week of classroom and lab-based department orientation
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- BLS certification required
- RCIS or ARRT certification required
- ARRT-certified candidates must be registered with NDMIRT
- RCIS candidates: If credentialed as RCIS, the clinician will not be responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy and therefore does not require an ND Radiologic Technologist license
- ARRT candidates: If responsible for panning/activating fluoroscopy, an active North Dakota Radiologic Technologist license is required
Key Responsibilities
The Cath Lab Technologist will be responsible for:
- Scrubbing in for procedures and/or panning/activating fluoroscopy
- Supporting cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures
- Starting IVs when needed
- Assisting physicians and clinical staff during procedures
- Maintaining appropriate sterile technique and Cath Lab standards
- Supporting the team during emergent and scheduled procedures
Panning experience is highly valued. Candidates who have strong panning experience but limited scrubbing experience may still be considered, as the majority of this role involves panning.
Required/Preferred Clinical Skills
Experience with the following is highly preferred:
- IABP
- Impella
- Shockwave — preferred
- Laser
- IFR/FFR
- IVUS
- Rotapro
- 4-port manifold
- Cardiac and peripheral interventions
- IV starts — preferred, but not required
Common Procedures & Patient Population
The Cath Lab supports a broad range of cardiac and vascular procedures, including:
- Emergent revascularization
- Left Heart Catheterization (LHC)
- Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
- ATK peripheral diagnostic/interventional procedures
- Cardioversion
- Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
- Device procedures
- Pericardiocentesis
- Temporary pacemaker placement
An Intensivist MD is in-house 24/7 to support the department.
Schedule & Call Requirements
- Regular Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
- Call: Required
- Weeknight Call: 1–2 days per week
- Call hours: 3:30 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekend Call: Every third weekend
- Friday through Monday morning
- Weekend call is 24 hours
- Holiday Call: Every other holiday
- Call Response Time:20 minutes
- Scheduling is managed by the Team Lead.
- Schedules are posted 17 days in advance for 6-week periods.
Floating Requirements
When needed, staff may float to Heart & Vascular Pre/Post areas to provide additional support and assist with patient care.

- A radiation badge must be supplied and in hand prior to start.
- A Team Lead will be provided.
- Clinicians should bring their own lock for the locker.
- Hospital-designated shoes are required.
- Candidates must be able to meet the required 20-minute call response time.
- Profile review and manager interview are required prior to placement.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a skilled Cath Lab Technologist with strong panning/fluoroscopy experience and familiarity with complex cardiac and peripheral interventional procedures. Candidates with experience using IABP, Impella, IFR/FFR, IVUS, Rotapro, Laser, and Shockwave technology will be highly competitive.
