Job Overview

The Cath Lab Technologist performs endovascular procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician, contributing to the diagnosis and treatment of cardiac and peripheral vascular diseases. This role involves the monitoring of patients' hemodynamic status, documentation during procedures, and assistance during endovascular interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostic and interventional cardiology procedures, including cardiac catheterizations and coronary interventions.
• Monitor and manage patients’ hemodynamic status during procedures.
• Perform equipment setup and ensure the maintenance of sterile fields.
• Assist in various procedures such as cardiac stent placement, IABP placement/removal, and percutaneous coronary interventions.
• Recognize and respond to life-threatening arrhythmias and other emergencies.
• Participate in departmental meetings, in-services, and self-education initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved School of Radiologic Technology.
• 1.5 to 2 years of experience in Diagnostic and Interventional Cardiac Cath Labs.
• Registered by the A.R.R.T., R.T.(R) with BLS and ACLS certification.
• WV Medical Imaging License is required to operate fluoro machines in the lab.
• Travel experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in an Electrophysiology (EP) Lab and Interventional Radiology.
• ARRT CI certification.

Physical Requirements

Medium work involving frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 lbs, with a maximum lifting capability of 50 lbs.

Work Environment

The Cath Lab Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment, actively participating in the delivery of high-quality patient care during critical interventional procedures.

Additional Information

Scrubs will be provided for all staff. This position may require on-call duties, including weekends and holidays at regular intervals.
