Med Ninjas is seeking a travel Cath Lab Technologist for a travel job in Morristown, New Jersey.
Job Summary (List Format):
- Perform comprehensive and systematic nursing assessments for patients across the lifespan (Pediatric to Geriatric), including pre-operative and post-operative evaluations.
- Demonstrate competent clinical skills, including direct patient care, emergency procedures, and the use of emergency equipment.
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation in accordance with nursing process guidelines and regulatory standards.
- Consistently uphold professionalism by adhering to hospital policies and procedures and seeking opportunities for clinical and professional growth.
- Promote patient and family satisfaction through courteous, positive, and confidential interactions; maintain HIPAA compliance.
- Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals, including Universal Protocol and proper patient identification; utilize safe patient transfer and body mechanics techniques.
- Demonstrate knowledge of surgical and interventional patient diagnoses, procedures, and equipment; individualize care based on procedure and anesthesia type.
- Assume responsibility for prioritizing and directing patient care within the perioperative and procedural environment.
- Provide patient and family education related to procedures, expectations, and post-procedure care; ensure informed consent.
- Evaluate and facilitate timely completion of Pre-Admission Testing (PAT), including assessment of orders and patient readiness for procedures.
- Administer and titrate medications (e.g., beta-blockers, nitroglycerin) per protocol; establish and maintain IV access, including for contrast administration.
- Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures, identifying and responding rapidly to clinical changes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality imaging outcomes.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain competency in cardiac imaging, radiology, and contrast safety practices.
- Ensure compliance with departmental protocols, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements (e.g., Joint Commission).
- Possess strong IV insertion skills and the ability to access implanted chest ports.
- Meet minimum requirements: 2 years of critical care experience, active RN license, BLS and ACLS certification, and an Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s preferred).
- Work schedule: Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm, in an advanced vascular/interventional radiology setting.
Specialty Requirements:
- For Cardiac Telemetry/Imaging RN: 3-5 years of experience in cardiac telemetry monitoring and/or cardiac imaging.
- For Radiology/Interventional RN: 3-5 years of experience in radiology outpatient or interventional radiology imaging.
