Cath Lab Registered Nurse

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Cath Lab Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will have strong Level I Trauma experience and a minimum of 2 years of Cath Lab experience. Candidates will undergo a profile review through Medical Solutions before being submitted to the hiring manager for an interview.

Unit Information

  • Department: Cath Lab
  • Capacity: 3 main Cath Lab rooms, 1 EP room, and 1 Hybrid room supporting both vascular and cardiac procedures
  • Patient Volume: Approximately 10–25 cases per day
  • EMR: Cerner and Xper
  • Telemetry: Philips
  • Equipment: Philips and Siemens
  • Charge Nurse: Yes
  • Scrub Color: Provided
  • Orientation: 2 days of unit-specific orientation
  • Ventilators: Not applicable
  • IV Team: Not available
  • Respiratory Therapy: Available 24/7
  • Pharmacy: Available 24/7

Required Qualifications & Certifications

  • Level I Trauma experience is required
  • Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab experience
  • Current BLS certification
  • Must hold the appropriate Arizona MRTBE CRT license
  • For Radiologic Technologists/Tech candidates:
    • ARRT certification required
    • Must have Cath Lab scrubbing experience
    • Must be able to scrub independently

Clinical Experience

Candidates should be comfortable caring for patients undergoing a variety of interventional cardiology and vascular procedures, including:

  • Interventional cardiology
  • Electrophysiology (EP) procedures
  • Peripheral vascular procedures
  • MitraClip
  • TAVR
  • IABP placement
  • EMTALA-related procedures

Staffing & Responsibilities

  • Registered Nurses provide Cath Lab nursing support.
  • Radiologic Technologists support both circulating and scrubbing responsibilities.
  • Rad Techs are BLS-certified and must have the required credentials and Cath Lab experience.
  • Staff may also provide coverage for Endoscopy (Endo) and CVOR.

Call & Holiday Requirements

  • Call Requirement: Approximately 8–12 days per month
  • Response Time: 30-minute call-back requirement
  • Weekends: Covered through the call schedule
  • Holidays: Included in the rotating schedule

  • Shifts are based on the schedule outlined in the job posting.
  • Candidates must be able to meet the required call and response-time expectations.
  • Travel teams with Cath Lab RNs are not accepted.
  • Profiles will be reviewed by Medical Solutions prior to submission to the manager for interview consideration.
