Cath Lab Tech

Position Overview

The Cath Lab Tech is responsible for providing high-quality care to patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures in the catheterization lab. The role involves managing equipment, assisting physicians with procedures, and ensuring patient safety throughout the process.

Shift Information

• Schedule: 4x10 hour day shifts (0700 - 1730), with variability as needed until procedures are completed.
• Daily Caseload: The Cath Lab typically operates 4 to 5 labs per day with a case load of approximately 20-25 cases.

Call Requirements

• On-Call: Yes, call requirements are one weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) every 7 weeks, along with an evening shift every week.
• Holidays: Required as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Cath Lab setting.
• First-timers accepted: Yes.
• Certifications:
  • Required: BLS, ACLS, ARRT or RCIS (registered or in process).
  • Licensure: Must hold a South Carolina license (SCRQSA).
• Radiation Badge: Required. Must be provided by the agency; not supplied by the organization.
• Special Requirements: Proficiency in coronary diagnostic/intervention scrub and monitoring techniques.

Additional Information

• Accommodations for block schedules may be requested but require managerial approval based on unit needs.
• Local candidates are accepted on a case-by-case basis.
• All requested time off (RTO) must be included at the time of submission and will be approved based on facility needs.
• Guaranteed hours: The facility may call off one shift per two weeks, and these hours may be combined to equal one shift.
