Cath Lab Technician (RT(R) / CVT)
Position Overview
This position is for a skilled Cath Lab Technician responsible for assisting with diagnostic and interventional procedures in a dynamic Cath Lab environment.

Location: Puyallup, WA
- Level III Trauma Center
- 375 licensed beds

General Information
- Number of Cath Lab rooms: 2
- Experience Requirements:
- 1 year of Cath Lab experience is required for travelers with prior travel experience.
- 2+ years of Cath Lab experience required for first-time travelers.
Patient Type
The position involves working with patients undergoing:
- Diagnostic and interventional procedures
- Left Heart Catheterization (LHC) and Right Heart Catheterization (RHC)
- NSTEMI and STEMI treatments
- Use of Impella, IABPs, Rotablator, CTOs/staged PCI, shockwave, and temp pacers
- Peripheral diagnostic intervention
- Loop recorders
Case Volume
A typical day involves performing approximately 8 cases.
Licensure and Certifications
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
- ARRT or RCIS License
- Washington State License
Required Skills
- Experience in scrubbing and operating the table simultaneously.
- Monitoring experience is preferred.
Unit Support
- Support includes a scheduler, a charge nurse/lead technician, respiratory therapy available 24/7, and intensivists.
- Cardiologist is on-call at all times but present during the day.
- Transport assistance provided, with staff responsible for their own tele-monitored patients.
- Manager present during the week.
Technology and Equipment
- EMR: EPIC
- IV pumps: Alaris
- Medication dispensing: Pyxis
- PACS: Picom
- Hemodynamic monitoring: Merge - experience preferred
- C-arm: GE Alea - experience not required but advantageous
Floating Policy
Potential for floating to another Cath Lab location approximately 15 minutes away, with prior notification if necessary. Maximum floating once per week, but may not occur at all.
Orientation and Training
- 1st day includes New Employee Orientation (NEO).
- Subsequent training conducted within the department.
- Travelers have the option to take buddy call during the first week, transitioning to independent call during the second week.
Scheduling
- Weekend rotation: Call only.
- Weekday call: Once per week from end of shift until 07:00 the following day.
- Weekend call: Every 6th weekend from Friday until Monday at 07:00.
- No sleep room available; may utilize the Admit/Recovery unit if necessary.
- 30-minute response time required.
- Call team consists of 2 technicians and 1 RN.

- Scrubs will be provided; extended sizing available but not for lead.
- Parking is free in the garage.
