Job Title: Cath Lab Technician Assistant Profession: Tech Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 14 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: Minimum of 4 days a week (Monday-Friday) 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM, with a minimum of one day a week on call and every third weekend. Experience: Minimum of two years in a healthcare setting License: Required certifications include BLS and one of the following: RCIS or ARRT (VI). Certifications: BLS; one of RCIS or ARRT (VI) or RTRCI Must-Have: - Patient preparation skills - Scrubbing procedures - Hemodynamic pressure monitoring - Knowledge of invasive cardiology processes - Health education Description: The Cath Lab Technician Assistant is responsible for assisting in preparing patients for cath lab procedures. The role includes scrubbing procedures and monitoring and recording hemodynamic pressures. The Cath Lab Technician demonstrates professional development and clinical competency. The assistant utilizes the invasive cardiology process to prepare the procedure room and the patient for the procedure. The position addresses health educational needs for patients, families, and other healthcare providers. The assistant manages patient care assignments as well as other organizational tasks related to patient and unit operations. Knowledge of growth and development is applied in patient interactions. Other related duties may be performed as assigned. Key responsibilities include accepting accountability for results, continually improving care and service, demonstrating stewardship of resources, and respecting every person. The role sets the standard for quality and caring while succeeding with integrity.
