Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP Technologist with at least 18 months of cardiac cath lab experience for a short-term acute care hospital setting.

Details

• Cardiac Cath Lab unit performing diagnostic and interventional procedures
• Adult and geriatric patient population including middle adult and older adult competencies
• Procedures include diagnostic and left/right heart catheterizations, PCI, PTCA, cardiac stent placement, cardiac implant closure device, IABP placement/removal, and rotablator atherectomy
• Responsibilities include scrubbing, room circulating, equipment setup, and maintaining sterile field
• EPIC charting system used
• Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
• Call coverage required
• May float within scope to sister facilities within a 20-mile radius
• 180 staffed bed short term acute care facility

Requirements

• Minimum of 18 months experience in Cath Lab specialty required, 2 years preferred
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• ARRT-R certification required
• CCI RCIS certification preferred; RCVT certification also preferred
• License required if applicable
• Experience with interpretation of dysrhythmias and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias
• Knowledge of infection control, isolation precautions, PPE, and sterile technique
• No pending licenses or certifications accepted

• Ceil blue scrub color required
• All RTO must be discussed and submitted at time of consideration; late RTO requests are unlikely to be approved
• Travelers expected to work every other holiday
• COVID-19 and flu vaccines required, with medical/religious exemptions only
• Facility is smoke-free; negative 10-panel drug screen plus nicotine (cotinine) test required
• Time-sensitive orientation modules must be completed promptly once confirmed for assignment
• EKG and pharmacology tests required during orientation, with a maximum of 2 attempts each
• Permanent or per diem staff cannot return to this health system for 1 year from their previous end date
