Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab / EP Technologist with 2+ years of cath lab experience to work in a high-volume interventional cardiac cath lab.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting with 304 staffed beds
  • Diagnostic and interventional cardiac cath lab
  • Runs 4 to 5 labs per day with 2-3 CVT staff per lab, totaling 20-25 cases daily
  • 4x10 hour day shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with variation depending on procedure completion
  • On-call requirements include one weekend (Fri-Sun) per 7 weeks plus a weekly call shift and evening shift
  • No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
  • Holiday coverage as needed
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certification required (AHA only)
  • RCIS (CCI) certification required, registered or in process
  • South Carolina RN license required if applicable
  • Proficient in coronary diagnostic and interventional scrub and monitoring duties
  • Experience with cardiac stent placement, left and right heart catheterization, PCI, PTCA, and rotablator atherectomy
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Driver's license and Social Security number required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Perform procedural responsibilities including accurate monitoring, cardiac cath lab procedures, and vascular studies
  • Additional exposure to embolization, IVC filter placement, thrombolysis/thrombectomy, and Impella insertion
  • Uses PACS, Fuji Vidistar, and MAC Lab equipment
  • Hospital-issued scrubs provided for cath lab staff
  • First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a travel employee
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis, though non-local candidates are prioritized
  • 60-mile radius rule applies for local candidate consideration
  • All requested time off must be submitted and approved based on facility needs
  • During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
  • Block scheduling may be requested but requires managerial approval and is not guaranteed
