Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cardiac Cath Lab RN for a high-volume, high-acuity unit requiring cardiac or critical care experience and rotating on-call coverage.

Details

  • Cath Lab unit performing 12-18 cases per day across 3 newly renovated labs
  • High volume, high acuity unit that takes STEMI call
  • Patient ratio of 1:6
  • Day shift 4x10 hours (07:00-17:30), alternating Mon-Fri
  • Rotating on-call required for weekends, holidays, after hours, and when the department is closed
  • Every other weekend requirement
  • Uses Philips rooms (upgraded within the past year), Medrad and manifold for injections
  • Documentation through XPER and EPIC
  • Procedures performed include TAVR, Watchman, CardioMEMS, carotids, Impella, CTO, peripherals, TEVAR/EVAR, and STEMI interventions
  • Travelers may float within scope to medical assignment units and the ED for medical holds

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Minimum of 1 year cardiac or critical care experience required
  • Cardiac cath and/or IR experience preferred
  • BSN preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Community hospital experience required
  • Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with ACT monitoring, circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience with sheath removal/monitoring, topical hemostasis, and vascular closure systems preferred
  • Experience administering antiarrhythmics, antihypertensives, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, and reversal agents

  • Works within a team-oriented, hard-working group

  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted at the same rate with no radius restriction
  • RTO requests at manager's discretion
  • Returning travelers must have a one-year separation from the facility before reapplying
