Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP RN with 2+ years of experience and a SC or compact RN license for a 1:1 ratio acute care hospital assignment.

Details

• Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab setting in a 304-bed acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Rotating 4x10 hour day shifts (0700-1730 and 0930-2000), with shifts grouped by week for consistency and possible extension until procedures are complete
• Weekend call required one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month plus one weekday call shift per week, subject to change based on staffing needs
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certification (AHA only) required
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience required
• EP/Cath Lab experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, left and right heart catheterization, and Impella insertion
• Experience circulating procedures, interpreting/managing dysrhythmias, and monitoring procedural sedation
• Radiation badge required, must be provided by the agency
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsible for administering and monitoring procedural sedation and medications during cardiac cath and EP procedures
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
• Located in a downtown setting with available parking garages (clearance limited to average SUV/truck size) and free parking passes distributed at badge pickup
• During hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September), all staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling may be accommodated with manager approval, dependent on unit needs
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous perm or PRN staff must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate; a 60-mile radius rule applies with priority given to non-local candidates
