Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring 2+ years of Cath/EP experience and a SC or compact RN license in hand.

Details

• Work in the Diagnostic Cardiac Cath Lab and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab within an acute care hospital
• 1:1 patient ratio
• Rotating 4x10hr day shifts (7:00-17:30 and 9:30-20:00), grouped by week for consistency, with hours extending until procedures are complete
• Weekend call required one weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun) per month, plus one weekday call shift per week
• No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
• Epic EMR used

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or compact license required in hand prior to start
• BLS and ACLS certifications required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/EP experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Experience with cardiac cath lab procedures, cardiac stent placement, diagnostic and interventional catheterizations (left and right heart), and Impella insertion
• Skilled in circulating procedures, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and procedural sedation monitoring and medication administration
• Radiation badge required, must be provided by the agency
• Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include circulating cardiac cath and EP procedures, monitoring and administering procedural sedation, and managing dysrhythmias
• Hospital-issued scrubs provided for Cath Lab staff
• First-time travelers may be considered depending on position needs
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates considered on a case-by-case basis at a reduced rate; MUSC prioritizes non-local candidates
• 60-mile radius rule applies for local candidate determination
• During hurricane season (June-November, peak August-September), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is not guaranteed
