Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring an active MA RN license and prior cath lab experience.

Details

  • Work in the Cath Lab unit of a hospital environment
  • Performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterization procedures, EP lab procedures, and hybrid OR cases
  • Day shift schedule (4x10 hours), 7:00am-5:30pm
  • Union facility with no special scheduling accommodations, must be able to work all 7 days
  • Uses Epic charting system

Requirements

  • Active MA RN license in hand required
  • Minimum 1 year of experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS and ACLS
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Previous charge nurse experience preferred
  • Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including diagnostic and interventional catheterizations, PCI, IABP placement/removal, and left/right heart catheterization
  • Experience with EP procedures such as cardiac ablation, cardiac mapping, and pacemaker insertion preferred
  • Proficient in 12-lead EKG/ECG interpretation, dysrhythmia management, and procedural sedation monitoring
  • Experience with vascular closure systems, angioplasty, and vascular studies/procedures preferred
  • Skilled in IV therapy, blood product administration, and medication administration including antiarrhythmics and emergency medications
  • Two professional references required for consideration, with at least one from a Nurse Manager or higher

Additional Information

  • Circulate cath lab and EP procedures while providing patient monitoring and care
  • Perform interpretation and management of dysrhythmias and cardiac emergencies
  • Required to complete a Pass/Fail Tele test during orientation with an 80% passing score and one attempt allowed; failure to pass will result in cancellation from the assignment
  • Required to complete a Pass/Fail Medication exam during orientation
  • Pre-start modules take approximately 1-2 hours, with additional orientation modules completed during orientation and annually thereafter
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates with prior employment at this health system must have a 12-month separation before returning
  • Up to 14 days of RTO may be submitted for review, though no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment
  • Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate within a 75-mile radius
  • Candidates must reside within a 200-mile radius to be eligible for the travel rate
