Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager for an acute hospital setting requiring Epic experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Floats between two hospital campuses approximately 30 minutes apart with a varying weekly schedule
  • Every other weekend required
  • Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license (Compact license must be in hand at time of consideration)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Experience with InterQual criteria, discharge planning, and utilization review
  • Knowledge of CMS and HIPAA regulatory guidelines
  • Must provide full SSN and DOB for consideration
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include admission criteria review, care coordination, discharge planning, and utilization review using InterQual criteria
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • All requested time off must be submitted upfront at time of consideration, as post-offer time off requests may not be accommodated
  • Local candidates accepted at lower bill rate
  • Candidates residing within a 50-mile radius are subject to local rate rules
  • Former permanent employees may return as travelers only after a 3-month waiting period and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
  • Travelers must be willing to float between sister facilities as needed
  • Facility does not accept candidates with Nursys or background check hits
