Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital, requiring prior travel experience and 2+ years of acute medical care coordination experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
  • Patient ratio of 1:25
  • Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week
  • Days off will vary and are not guaranteed to be consecutive
  • Floating required to a sister facility in Laguna
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required; pending license accepted if licensed by start date
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing care coordination within the last 3 months
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
  • Experience with appeals and denials, discharge planning, disease management, and needs assessment/DME ordering preferred
  • Familiarity with CMS, DRG, HIPAA, OSHA, and Joint Commission regulatory guidelines preferred
  • Experience in Emergency Department, ICU, and Surgical Services specialties preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment, and order of DME
  • May involve worker's compensation and disability case management duties
  • Scrub color required is turquoise or business casual attire
  • Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this role
  • Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
  • Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility for travel rate eligibility
  • Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities near the contracted site
