Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for an acute care setting, requiring 2 years of recent acute medical care coordination experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • Acute care hospital setting within Case Management department
  • Patient ratio of 1:25
  • Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours (8:00 AM - 4:30 PM)
  • Variable 5-day workweek with department operations occurring 7 days per week; days off not guaranteed to be consecutive
  • Float requirement to a nearby sister facility
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required (pending license accepted if licensed by start date)
  • BLS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent acute medical Care Manager experience performing Care Coordination, within the last 3 months
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Trauma Level I and II experience preferred
  • Experience in Emergency Department, ICU, or Surgical Services preferred
  • Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years in a comparable specialty/setting
  • Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, disease management, needs assessment/DME ordering, plan of care management, and workers' compensation case management
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards including CMS, HIPAA, OSHA, DRG, and The Joint Commission required
  • Business casual attire or turquoise scrubs required
  • Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
  • RTO requests limited to no more than 7 days and must be submitted upfront
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility, though local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate
  • Former Providence employees may return as travelers only after a 3-month waiting period and must reside outside a 50-mile radius
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
  • Only one submission allowed at a time across Providence facilities
