Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN Case Manager for a 13-week acute hospital assignment requiring 2 years of hospital case management experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Required to work every other weekend
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating between like units required based on facility need
• Charting completed in Epic

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• 2 years of acute hospital case management experience performing care coordination and discharge planning required
• Prior travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be considered with clinical manager approval
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with admission criteria, appeals and denials, benefits eligibility, care coordination, discharge planning, needs assessment/DME ordering, and prior authorizations
• Knowledge of CMS, DRG, HIPAA guidelines, and The Joint Commission/Core Measures/National Safety Goals
• 2 professional references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

• Perform care coordination and discharge planning for acute hospital patients
• Located in Eureka, California, within easy driving distance of 7 state and national parks including the Redwood Highway

• Local candidate radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• All travelers are expected to float between all facilities within the state, and refusal to float may impact assignment status
• Minimal RTO requests preferred to avoid delays in the offer process
