Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager for an acute care case management assignment requiring 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience and a CA RN license.

Details

• Acute care hospital setting within the Case Management department
• Day shift schedule, 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1:20 for day shift
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work holidays and commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• No floating expected within the primary contracted facility, though floating between sister facilities may be required
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required, pending license accepted if licensed by start date
• Minimum 2 years of acute care case management/discharge planning experience required
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required, though first-time travelers may be screened for consideration
• Epic charting system experience required
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Additional Information

• Responsibilities include care coordination, discharge planning, determining medical necessity, and utilization review using InterQual criteria
• Perform admission criteria review, needs assessment, DME ordering, and plan of care development
• May include appeals and denials management, prior authorizations, and benefits eligibility review
• First-time travelers welcome to apply but must be screened
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not live within 50 miles of the facility
• RTO limited to no more than 7 days; requests beyond 7 days may delay offer approval
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate
• Local radius rule of 50 miles applies
• Business attire or scrubs permitted as dress code
• Background checks with Nursys or BG hits are not accepted by this facility
