Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN Case Manager for an acute care hospital setting, requiring an active AK RN license and Epic charting experience.

Details

  • Acute hospital Case Management/Utilization Review department at a Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility
  • Day shift schedule of 4x10 hour shifts (7:00-17:30)
  • Weekend work required every other weekend or 4 weekend days within a 4-week schedule
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within the hospital or to nearby affiliate hospitals as needed
  • Responsibilities include care coordination, continued stay reviews, medical necessity determination, discharge planning, and pre-certification reviews

Requirements

  • Active AK RN license required in hand
  • Current BLS certification required; ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience required (hardstop requirement)
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Knowledge of CMS, HIPAA, and regulatory guidelines preferred
  • Experience with InterQual Criteria and Milliman Guidelines preferred
  • Experience with Worker's Compensation case management preferred
  • 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Additional Information

  • Scrubs are provided and parking is free
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
  • First-time travelers are accepted
  • Must be willing to work 2 of the following 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
  • Limited to 1 time-off request of 5 days or less per 13-week assignment; no holiday time off permitted
  • Former Providence permanent staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
  • Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year in this assignment before requiring a 6-month break to return
  • Only Hepatitis B vaccination is accepted; titers or declinations are not permitted
