Job Title: Cardiovascular Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Tech Specialty: Cardiovascular Tech Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 10 hours Experience: Heart experience required License: Required certification in Surgical Technology preferred Certifications: CPR or BLS certification from an approved vendor preferred Must-Have: Associate Degree or Certificate in Surgical Technology Description: Facilitates physician performance of invasive, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures. Handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during surgical procedures. Ensures quality patient care during operative procedures and monitors the maintenance of the sterile field. Verifies surgery to be performed with consent forms and brings the patient to the assigned operating room. Passes instruments to the surgeon during the procedure. Anticipates the surgeon's needs for additional supplies. Performs appropriate counts with the circulator prior to the operation and before the incision is closed. Prepares sterile dressings and secures them after incision closure. Checks supplies and equipment needed for surgical procedures. Obtains appropriate sterile and unsterile items needed for the procedure. Sets up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure. Helps drape the sterile field. Cleans and prepares instruments for terminal sterilization. Assists other team members with cleaning the room for turnover. Assists in prepping the room for the next patient. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Organizational Requirements: Committed to the safety and well-being of associates and patients. Requires all associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable. Medical and religious exemptions may apply.
